The initial consultation is an exciting and important time for you to decide if NS Gowns is right for you.

You’ll receive access to the NS Gown Inspo Gallery ahead of time. This is a great opportunity to start formulating ideas, or reinforce ideas you may already have! Screenshots are welcome during your consultation. As a designer, I do not copy the work of others. But we can certainly seek inspiration to get the journey started! We’ll talk about many things, including:

~ Your wedding ceremony, theme, location & style choices.

~ Time of year and season.

~ Fabric preferences, colour (yes there are different types of white) and silhouettes.

~ Your dream gown expectations and budget.

~ Gown styles that will suit YOU. Including comfort, practicality, complexion, body type, height and many other factors that will ensure you end up with the RIGHT GOWN!

NOTE: NS Gowns is by appointment only, Mackay QLD address provided once booked.

After our consultation, you will receive your initial sketch and quotation! If you haven’t already chosen, the appropriate NS Gown Package will be recommended.

We'll engage in some back and forth as we collaborate to clarify your vision. No changes can be made once your sketch is finalised. Not to worry though, because taking the time to be thorough and get it right at this stage will ensure that you have a wonderful end-to-end experience.

Once finalised, your 60% deposit will secure a spot on the NS production schedule.

Now, our journey really begins!

Most gowns are finished within three months from the date your deposit is received. Once confirmed, you will receive a personalised production timeline. This timeline will keep you updated on the current progress of your gown at all times—most timelines kick off with a body measurement appointment.

You will visit the NS Studio at least twice: once for measurements and once for a gown fitting. Additionally, your production schedule allows for a toile fitting and a second fitting, if necessary.

Toile Fitting

If needed, the toile fitting takes your gown from a 2D drawing to a 3D garment. During this fitting, we test the technical aspects of your gown to minimise any fit issues during construction. A toile is a sample version of the garment; it is usually rough, incomplete, and made from calico, and while it may not be visually appealing (yet), it’s exciting to see your gown start to take shape.

1st Fitting

By your first fitting, your gown is finished or nearly finished! This fitting allows us to confirm that we are pleased with the fit and design elements. The next time you see your gown, it will be polished, pressed, and ready for your big day!

2nd Fitting

The second fitting is an opportunity to address any final technical details that may need confirmation. This fitting can be particularly useful for more intricate gowns.

Once the final payment is received, we’ll schedule a time to collect your gown! If you like, we can plan a gown reveal for your bridal party!

All gowns are pressed and include a garment bag, hanger and repair kit.
